Accessibility Statement

"The power of the Web is in its universality. Access by everyone regardless of disability is an essential aspect." - Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web.

Purple Pages is firmly committed to making this website as accessible as possible. It is a pretty big goal so we don't expect to achieve it overnight. However we are going to keep working on it and you can follow our progress here.

Our first step towards accessibility was to make sure we were producing valid XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.0 as recommended by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). We are nearly there!

XHTML 1.0 CSS

Our next step is to conform to all the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (WCAG 1.0) set out by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).

There are three levels of conformance:

WCAG 1.0 WAI-Level A - View the Purple Pages progress table for Level A

WCAG 1.0 WAI-Double-A - View the Purple Pages progress table for Double-A

WCAG 1.0 WAI-Triple-A - View the Purple Pages progress table for Triple-A

If you have any comments for us please do contact us. Unfortunately we don't always have time to reply to all the emails we receive but they are read and we really appreciate the feedback.
